Loan Ledger

Privacy policy

What we collect, who else collects it through this site, and how to switch it off.

Last updated

This policy explains how Loan Ledger (loans.menusdutchbros.com) handles information about the people who visit it. Plain language, no lawyer-padding.

The short version

  • We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information.
  • We serve advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners set cookies on this site and use them to choose which ads you see.
  • You can turn personalised advertising off at any time. Links are below.

Information we collect ourselves

Nothing you type. This site has no accounts, no comments and no forms. The only way to contact us is email, and if you email us we hold that message so we can reply to it.

Standard server logs. Like every website, our host records requests: IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, and the time. These are used to keep the site running and to detect abuse.

Aggregate analytics. We look at which pages are read and for how long, in aggregate. We do not use it to build a profile of you as an individual.

Advertising, cookies, and Google

This is the part that matters most on a site funded by ads, so it is the most detailed.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info, or for many vendors at once at the NAI opt-out page.
  • Third-party ad networks other than Google may also serve ads here. We do not control the cookies those networks set, and their own privacy policies govern that use.

Turning off personalised advertising does not remove ads — it means the ads you see are chosen without using your browsing history, so they will simply be less relevant.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Where we serve personalised advertising, our lawful basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the links above.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" — a definition broad enough to include the use of advertising cookies. We do not sell personal information for money. To exercise any of these rights, email us at editors@loans.menusdutchbros.com with the subject line "Privacy request".

Everyone. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site is designed to work perfectly well without them.

Children

This site is written for adults making borrowing decisions and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our guides link to outside sources — regulators, lenders, government agencies. Once you follow a link off this site, this policy no longer applies, and we have no control over what the destination site collects. We link to sources so you can check our work, not as an endorsement.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
