This is information, not advice
Everything on Loan Ledger is published for general educational purposes only. It is not financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or tax advice, and it is not a recommendation to take out — or avoid — any particular loan or product.
We are not a lender, not a broker, and not a financial advisor. We are not licensed to give personalised advice and we do not attempt to. We know nothing about your income, your credit file, your debts, your tax position, or your goals, and any of those could completely change what the right decision is for you.
Before acting on anything you read here, consider speaking with a licensed professional who can look at your actual circumstances — a certified financial planner, an accountant, a housing counselor, or a lawyer, as appropriate.
About the numbers
Rates, fees and terms in our guides are illustrative. They are representative figures used to make the arithmetic concrete — not quotes, not offers, and not predictions of what any lender will give you.
Your actual rate depends on your credit score, income, debt-to-income ratio, the loan term, the lender, and where you live. Lending rules and rates also change, sometimes quickly. We date every guide so you can see how fresh it is, but always confirm current terms with the lender before you sign anything.
Our calculators assume a fixed rate and equal monthly payments, and exclude taxes, insurance, and fees unless stated. They are estimates. The lender's own disclosure is the number that counts.
How we make money
Loan Ledger is funded by display advertising, primarily through Google AdSense. When you see an ad on this site, we may earn revenue from it — typically fractions of a cent per impression.
That is the entire business model. To be explicit about what we do not do:
- No affiliate links to lenders. We don't get paid if you click through to a loan.
- No referral or lead-generation fees. We don't sell your details to lenders. We don't collect them.
- No commission on any loan you take out. Ever. We earn identically whether you borrow or don't.
- No paid placements or sponsored guides. No advertiser can buy coverage or influence a conclusion.
This matters because it is the conflict of interest that distorts most lending content on the internet. A site that earns a commission when you take a loan has a reason to tell you to take the loan. We don't have that reason, which is why our guides are free to tell you when borrowing is a bad idea — and they do.
Ads are labelled
Every advertising unit on this site carries an "Advertisement" label and is visually separated from editorial content. We do not disguise ads as articles. If you find an ad here that imitates our editorial design, please report it to editors@loans.menusdutchbros.com and we will block that creative.
We do not control which specific ads Google serves to you. If you see an ad you believe is fraudulent or predatory, tell us and we will act on it. You can also control ad personalisation from our privacy policy page.
External links
We link to regulators, government agencies and lenders so you can verify our claims. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any site we link to.
Limitation of liability
We work hard to be accurate, and a CFP® professional reviews every guide — but we make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loan Ledger accepts no liability for any loss arising from reliance on anything published here. Decisions about borrowing money are yours, and the consequences of them are yours too.
Found something wrong? Tell us and we will fix it: editors@loans.menusdutchbros.com. Our editorial policy explains how corrections work.
